A very healthy dog, Murray has been fixed and fully vaccinated. He has a micro-chip and is house broken. He gets along well with dogs of any size, but cats are to be chased (according to Murray) so it is best that he find a cat-free forever home.
Murray has so many wonderful things going for him. He’s very affectionate with his human and just loves to cuddle up on the couch with you. He’s a sensitive and very gentle dog – an absolutely fabulous companion.
Murray has a couple of issues that make it necessary to find just the right home for him. He has a fair bit of energy and a sense of adventure which leads him to climb the fence in the back yard. (One of his Ninja-Border Collie skills!).
Murray has some stranger anxiety, and is very protective of his owner. He is not aggressive, but will warn you that he needs more time to decide if you are good – or evil. Like many dogs, small children make Murray very anxious. He needs to be in a home without kids, ideally out in the country.
Murray’s owner is worried for his safety because of his climbing prowess and proximity to busy streets. It is a very real possibility that he will one day be hit by a car, unless he is rehomed to a safer location. He will make such a great companion for a cat-free, child-free home.

Murray’s Personality
He’s a “smiley” dog. Very loving and gentle with me and those he trusts. He likes to snuggle on the couch. He loves to track scents and go for long walks. He does ok on a leash but definitely needs some more training. He has lots of energy.
He loves to play with other dogs and does well with all sizes/types of dogs. He likes to tree cats so I’m not sure how he would do with a cat sibling. He does well with routine. Loves to be outside in the sunshine but also loves a long nap on the couch
He would be great in a family with no children and with other dogs, with lots of room to run around and an owner with a strong personality so Murray doesn’t feel the need to protect
Why is Murray Being Rehomed?
He is constantly escaping the back yard, he has a lot of energy and loves to run but has to be on a lead so he doesn’t escape but he’s constantly getting tangled on the bricked pathway or sticks. I live on a busy street in my neighborhood and am afraid he will get hit by a car. I do not have the right personality to manage him.
He is so sweet and loves to snuggle, but he is also very protective. I can’t leave him with anyone because he’ll escape any yard he’s in and he’s only comfortable around a few people. I’m sure my anxiety about how he’ll react to people feeds into his insecurity which makes him more likely to lash out. He’s been to a boarder twice and did great there, they said he’s sweet and loves to play outside with the other dogs
