Darla has been lovingly raised by her owner, who found her outside, along with her brother. Since that time, so many tragedies have happened in her owner’s life in the past month. After her husband died suddenly earlier this month, Darla’s owner has also been notified that her father, on the mainland, is suffering from end-stage Dementia. She is planning to move to the Mainland to spend some time with her Dad, while he is still alive.
Having to part with Darla is another very sad situation for her. She is dearly hoping to find the best home in Honolulu for Darla, a home with a cat lover who will cherish this adorable cuddle-bug and keep her safe, happy, and healthy.
Darla is good with other cats and cat-friendly dogs. She will also do well in a home with respectful children. Darla’s Personality
Darla is a cuddle bug. She is a typical girly girl kitty, loves to be held, lap time, playtime, and nap time. She likes to be held like a furry baby, and she will do gentle head butts for smooches. She gets a little floofed at the vacuum noise. She hasn’t been around dogs, but she is very friendly with other cats. My husband and I found her outside as a small kitten and we hand raised her and her brother. I imagine she will be a bit timid at first because she hasn’t been anywhere outside of our apartment. She is indoor only so far and is litter box trained with no history of marking or going potty outside of her litter box.
Why is Darla Being Rehomed?
My husband passed away suddenly on September 2, and my father is in the end stages of dementia so I have decided to move to the mainland to help take care of him and spend some time with family before he also passes. I cannot relocate with her, no matter how sad that makes me. I have to do what’s best for her.
