Just 5 years years old and weighing 25 lbs, Bentley is a handsome little dog with a soft, fluffy, hypoallergenic, non shedding white coat. A healthy dog, Bentley has been fixed, fully vaccinated, housebroken and leash trained. Bentley has some behavior issues that make him unsuitable for homes with small children or other dogs. He would be fine with dog-friendly cats.
Bentley is a very affectionate little dog that adores his owner. He’s what we refer to as a “Velcro dog” – he attaches himself to his one favorite person, and wants to spend all or most of his time by their side.

Bentley needs a home where he can be loved unconditionally by just one special dog lover.
His behavior issues are as follows:
1. Excessive barking. Whenever people and/or pets go by the house, Bentley does a lot of aggressive barking.
2. Food aggression. He becomes aggressive if any pet or person tries to get between him and his food. He must be allowed to eat his food without any interruption.
3. Resource guarding – his owner. He will growl when his owner’s husband enters the bedroom, and when the owner’s grandchildren require her attention. He does not like to share his favorite human.
Bentley has many wonderful traits that make it easy to accept his few flaws. He is as cute as a bug’s ear and very handsome. His big brown eyes will melt your heart. He is very affectionate and loves to play. He is very smart, and knows a number of commands. He loves to chase squirrels and play fetch, but can also be lazy, napping during the day. Bentley enjoys having visitors over and enjoys getting pets and tummy rubs from them.
Bentley’s owner is sad to have to find him a new home, but with her many grandchildren visiting often, it is only a matter of time before one of them pulls his tail or some other transgression which might result in being bitten. She hopes to find him a home with someone who lives alone and doesn’t have small children visiting.
Bentley needs an experienced owner who is confident and will be able to provide a strong daily routine for Bentley. A quiet home in an area where there isn’t a lot of foot traffic going by will be ideal to keep his barking to a minimum. She is hoping to find a new home for Bentley where this special dog will be cherished and kept safe, happy, and healthy for life. Above all, his new owner needs to be able to love him unconditionally, warts and all.

Bentley’s Personality
He’s likes to chase squirrels; he sleeps with me (the Mom); he fetches the ball and knows simple commands.
He craves attention from visitors, just a quick pet and he’s fine. He likes to sleep during the day.
Why is Bentley Being Rehomed?
I am babysitting my grandchildren. I don’t want them trying to touch the dog (especially that fluffy tail)
The dog is also jealous when the grandchildren are here and wants me to play with him
This was my first dog, and I think I wasn’t strict enough and then was afraid/anxious with him.
I don’t give him baths (take to groomers) and I attempted to brush, but he was aggressive. I never crate trained him. However, I do play fetch with the ball and will give him belly rubs. And he will lay by my side when watching TV. And he does sleep at night with me, but will growl if my husband enters the room.
