My husband is retiring soon. I teach school. Our grandchildren love to visit.
Scruffy’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
He loves chew bones and nylabones. His favorite toy is a black Kong bone he wants us to try and get from him in a tug of war.
Cute Scruffy Story:
When we throw Scruffy his Kong bone, he uses his front paws to catch it and bring it to his mouth. When he sees our granddaughter come in to visit he jumps almost 5 feet straight up in the air in excitement.
Why is Scruffy Being Rehomed?
We have a 9 year old dog and lost a golden doodle a year ago to cancer. The older dog missed her companion, so we adopted Scruffy. He is aggressive around our older dog when there is food around. He is very protective of his bones, and can be very vicious with the older dog. We feel bad for our other dog, who is quite nervous and scared of his aggression. We feel he would do best as an only pet. He has so many good qualities.
Scruffy’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
People who will be firm but loving. A family that can appreciate Scruffy’s activity level and personality. A home where he is the only pet.
Additional Comments:
We have never given up a dog or cat. Our pets have always been forever. Unfortunately, Scruffy is a challenge to our older dog, and we don’t like to see her stressed. We don’t want to see him in a shelter, and appreciate that this is a safe way to re-home him.
