Hi, My name is Dusty!

I am a Dark Brown Male Labrador Retriever / Chow Chow / Shar Pei Mix Dog. I am 8 and weigh 60 pounds. I live in Tempe, AZ.

I am such a good dog! I love children and family life so much. I get along great with other dogs, too. I have been known to chase the odd cat (hey, but who hasn’t?), so I am probably not a good match for a home with cats.

My owners are so very sad to have to find me a new home. SEVERE allergies are the reason. My Mom has developed worsening allergies to dog dander, and it’s getting harder and harder for her to breathe. They have tried everything to make this better, including having me groomed every three weeks and giving me a bath and brushing twice a week. She’s just very allergic to me (sigh!).

Dusty adores children. He is very gentle with kids of all ages.

My family loves me so much. They are dearly hoping to find me a great home where I will be cherished and kept safe, happy and healthy.

Here’s what my family loves most about me:

1. He’s nice and big. You can interact and rough house with him. He’s a guys dog.

2. He’s very devoted and responsive to his family.

3. He’s an excellent watch dog and makes you and your family feel safe.

4. He’s handsome and unique.

5. Very good on leash.

Here’s my “Wish List” for a new home:

  • A family who will be able to spend time with me. I am great on my own while you are at work, but please come home and play with me after work, and spend lots of time with me on weekends.
  • A house with a big, securely fenced yard. I LOVE to run and enjoy playing fetch in the back yard.
  • Some great kids – or grandkids to dote on. I LOVE kids!
  • A family who will take very good care of me. I am an indoor/outdoor dog – I love to be outdoors during the day when the temperature is not too hot, but at night I like to stay inside and protect and check on my family.
  • A family who will love me unconditionally, forever.
