Oakley’s Personality
Oakley is a typical Golden Retriever, friendly and good with kids, other pets and new people. Like all Goldens, he needs plenty of exercise and human attention, and can be a bit of a foodie (to say the least!).
This sweet natured dog could use some positive reinforcement training, since he has a couple of issues around recall and jumping up to greet people, but all in all, he is a great family companion that very much deserves a great family to love him dearly.
Oakley is an Amazing Companion Because He is:
-Excellent with small children.
-He is a good natured boy.
-Extremely handsome.
-Loves to be active with you.
-Great with other pets, dogs and cats.

Will eat everything and anything in site (like most Retrievers!)
Loves going for walks and spending time in the back yard.

He was very gentle with my boys when they were babies and would rest his head near them.
Why is Oakley Being Rehomed?
The boys are allergic to his hair.
We also feel that for his sake, he needs to be with someone/a couple that has more time for him. Definitely needs more attention for exercise. We are raising small children and finding it difficult to provide for his needs. It isn’t fair to him.
Oakley’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to consider doing in my life and it breaks my heart, but I’m looking out for both sides here. I would love to see him running around on a farm type field house or with someone who is going to give him more attention that he needs.
Someone who is active and would include him . Someone who would be patient with him in regards to the on / off skin issues that we still can’t figure out.
Someone who would look into it further and spend more money on trying to help him more.
Probably wouldn’t be a bad thing if they had a dog /playmate for him (he gets along with other animals extremely well)
