Looking for a Great Dane Mix Dog to adopt in Pittsford, New York and the surrounding areas? Just 4 years old and weighing 80 pounds, Truffle is looking for her forever home. This gorgeous brindle mixed breed dog is fixed, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, housebroken, crate trained, leash trained and obedience trained. She’s a very loving dog that is crazy about respectful children and enjoys the company of dog-friendly cats.
Truffle’s owners are very sad to have to rehome their cherished dog. There are two other dogs in the home, and Truffle has occasionally been triggered by household commotion into attacking the other female dog. For this reason, they are hoping to find a new home for Truffle where she will not be with other dogs, and where she will be cherished and kept safe, happy, and healthy for life.

Does not get along with my older Vizsla female dog. Good with my 5 year old Male Vizsla, they never had any issues. She was good for a year under strict supervision when they were together. When we were excited and all cheering/yelling at the last Bills game that triggered to attack our 11 year old 45 pound Vizsla. The excitement seems to trigger her. She is a wonderful friendly goofy dog. Just not with her female sibling.

Currently Purina One True Instinct. Have and do feed Pro Plan. We feed our dogs 2 times a day 1 morning 1 evening with either warm water or warm broth added. We do give her some table scraps carefully chosen not to give her bad things like onions etc. She get snacks for for going out and going potty and just some other times.

Truffle’s Personality
Truffle has a great personality. She loves to cuddle and be covered by a blanket. Even though she came from a Caribbean island she loves the snow. She loves treats and to eat.
She can be as active as you like or as resting as you like. She does bark when people when they are coming to the door but so do my 2 Vizslas. She has recall from a distance and other training. She good in a car. She loves people and romps around with toys for us when we arrive home.
She is good around horses, goats and chickens which we have all of them. She can open a door. We have sideway handles and she lets herself in from outside if we do not lock the door as well as opens the door to the cat food which we had to put a slide lock on so she doesn’t keep eating all of the cat food.
She loves to sleep upside down. Truffle is goofy and loving!! This is the first time in 56 years I have had to do this and I have many, many dogs. It breaks our heart to have to do this but we have to take care of our old lady.
Why is Truffle Being Rehomed?
We are not able to have her in our home because of Truffle attacking and hurting our older dog. We can keep her until we find a good home that fits her.
We have had Truffle for 3 1/2 years. We adopted her from a group at the Island of St Kitts that rescues dogs that have been misplaced by hurricanes etc. We were told that she was a street dog for most of the six months.
The did do some training. We did some Intermediate training as well. She usually has the run of our yard 3 acres when she goes outside. She is great with cats as well, we have 3. She loves to go on walks in her harness. Loves to sunbath in the warm sun.
Our hearts hurt for doing this. We feel this is right for both our older dog and Truffle. I believe she would do best as an only dog. She will make someone happy and will love them to eternity!
