Sandy’s Current Home Environment

My 14 yr old son and I are home during the day. It is relatively quiet until dinnertime and that is becoming very stressful with Sandy.

Sandy’s Current Family:

I work in the school district and am home during the summer. We have 2 college boys home for the summer and another teenage son. My husband works during the day and is home in the evenings.

Sandy’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Nyla bones have helped calm Sandy in the evenings. Old Mother Hubbard’s dog treats, Pupperoni, Tug-a-war and squeak toys.

Cute Sandy Story:

While trying to get some of her energy out we had her chasing her tail in circles until she got dizzy and laid down. She will come up to you if you are seated and rest her chin on your leg and look at you with cute puppy eyes.

Why is Sandy Being Rehomed?

We have tried for 5 weeks to train Sandy and we have seen some good behavior. We just feel that she is in need of too much more than we can offer both time wise and financially. We are struggling with what schedules are going to look like when I go back to work in the Fall. She is a long way from being able to be boarded with other dogs.

Sandy’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Sandy needs a quiet family with low activity. She also needs a fenced in yard and freedom to run. The suburban neighborhood is not a good fit for her as she is now. She needs a firm hand to continue training.
