Pickles’s Personality

1. Pickles will meow at you when he wants treats and will often greet you with a meow when he wakes up from a nap.
2. He loves to sit on papers and in empty bags and when my daughters do their homework, he will sit on the table with them.
3. Pickles sometimes sleeps with my eldest daughter and will curl up in her arms at night despite his finicky attitude towards being touched during the day.
4. Pickles will hop up onto the speaker we have sitting next to the dog crate whenever we walk by. He just wants the treats that are sitting on top but he makes it seem like he’s saying hello.
5. He seems to like being around the family and will often come seek out either me or my oldest daughter for company.

Pickles’s Current Home Environment

My home includes me, my husband, my two daughters, Pickles, another cat, and two dogs. We are at home quite often and enjoy watching movies and spending time on the porch. We do tend to shout for each other around the house and sometimes slam doors without meaning to.

The dogs will freak out every time they see someone walking or driving past our front door. This causes a lot of yelling and barking which normally scares Pickles into hiding in the basement. Pickles would probably prefer a quieter household with no loud noises or commotion.

Pickles’s Current Family:

I am a stay-at-home mom. My oldest daughter is going to be a senior in high school whereas my youngest is going into fifth grade. My husband works out of the home. We all dearly love animals, being outside, and being together.

Pickles’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Pickles loves feather toys. He enjoys jumping after them and will often come completely off the ground in the process. He loves treats, especially the round ones that are easier to chase. He sleeps a lot during the day and mostly stays on our screened in porch. He loves to watch animals outside like birds and squirrels. If given the chance, he would gladly spend all day outside.

Cute Pickles Story:

My daughter’s room is at the very end of the hallway upstairs. When she goes up for bed, Pickles normally follows her because he is aware of the bottle of treats in her room. When she goes in the doorway and peeks her head back out, Pickles stops in his tracks.

She’ll go back into her room and peek back out and Pickles will have moved again. She will do this until he reaches the doorway. He seems to like it because he meows when he reaches her.

Why is Pickles Being Rehomed?

We feel like it is in Pickles’s best interest to find him a home without the stress of dogs, multiple people, and loud noises. We love him very much but it would be for the best to give him to someone that would provide him an environment more to his liking.

Pickles’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

We want someone that has a quiet lifestyle, no other pets (dogs/cats), and no young children. We want someone to provide Pickles with love and an understanding of his needs. He is a solitary cat so ‘love from a distance’ might be best for him.

Additional Comments:

This is very hard for us to do and we really want to give Pickles to the best home possible. He is an amazing cat and has many cute quirks that we know others will enjoy.
