He is just 3 years old, very healthy, neutered and house-broken. Putin is best suited to a home without small children, where he can be the only dog.
Like his namesake, Putin is a no-nonsense kind of guy. He’s quite good-looking, and a bit of a megalomaniac. While the other Putin wants to rule the world, this Putin simply wants to rule your home. Putin likes a routine, and really likes to be outdoors. He is well behaved and loyal, but not a lap dog or cuddle-muffin. He is wary of strangers, but will tolerate new people once they earn his trust.

The Maremma Sheepdog Club of America does not recommend the breed for families with small children, but they do well with adults and older, respectful kids.
Why is Putin Being Rehomed?
Putin’s owners are sad to have to make the difficult decision to rehome him. Unfortunately, they have a youngster in the home and have come to realize that she and Putin are not a good mix. They want to find him a home where he can be the dog he was meant to be, without worrying about him growling at their child or being aggressive towards their other dog.
It’s not Putin’s fault – it is just the way the Maremma breed is wired. Putin really needs a home on a farm or ranch with somebody who needs a working dog and/or is an experienced large breed dog owner.
Dogs like Putin don’t come along very often. He’s the dog that you want on your farm to keep an eye out for predators and wild dogs that might harass your animals. He’s just dying for a home where he can do all the things that he was bred to do.
