This healthy, happy and very handsome boy is 2 years old. He is a nice mix of American Pit bull Terrier and hound. He has a smooth, short coat that is roan with white markings on his paws and chest.
Taco is in excellent health, and has been fixed, fully vaccinated and micro-chipped. He is well trained,, and has undergone obedience training.
Taco is great with older children and most dogs. He needs a home with people who are confident and able to give Taco the exercise and playtime he needs.
Ideally his new home wold be in a country setting, but owners with a large, securely fenced yard would be a good choice as well. Taco is a smart, loyal and very affectionate dog. He will add lots of joy to his new family and cant wait to wiggle his way into your heart and home.

Behavior Issues: He feels the need to be protective of his owner, but only when he is on a leash.

Personality
Loving, fun, energetic and clever. Very excitable and slightly inconfident with other dogs. Absolutely no aggression, but in his excitement tends to start pulling leash, jumping and grabbing hands with teeth (gently enough not to cause any damage), very mouthy when excited, but very aware of what’s wrong and right and looks for reassurance from a human. When unsure he might react to a stranger, but with a right handling he is perfect with strangers, either ignores them or comes for a pet.

Reason For Rehoming
We just don’t think we are the right household and family for his level of energy. Taco is a lovely dog that would do well at a ranch or with lots of time outside, running off leash, playing with other dogs.
He trains really well, but needs a reminder on how to behave himself, he is not a very confondent dog. He loves people and dogs, tends to play roughly and needs to know someone is ready to step in to tell him what to do.
