Looking for an amazing Red Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) to adopt in San Antonio, Texas? About 3 years old and weighing 23 lbs, Mary Sunshine is healthy and has been fixed, housebroken, and leash trained. This wonderful dog is good with people of all ages and loves other dog-friendly dogs.
Mary was obviously someone’s dog before she ended up homeless. She must have been abandoned by her owners, but was lucky to find her way into her foster Mom’s yard, where her amazing personality was immediately apparent, and where she is being kept safe and sound until a loving new home can be found for her. She is so people-friendly and is used to being indoors as well as outdoors.

Mary Sunshine has so much to offer her forever family – she is playful and energetic, yet very sweet natured (she always has a cute grin on her face). She is smart, funny and very devoted. Mary loves tummy rubs, playing with her dog-friends in the back yard, and being part of an active family with lots of time to spend with her.
How anyone could abandon their family member is hard to imagine, particularly one as devoted and sweet as Miss Mary. We hope to find her a new family with folks who have the right home for her, and are willing to give her the time, care and attention she deserves.

Mary Sunshine’s Personality
Mary Sunshine is very sweet, plays rough house with our large dog and sleeps very well. She is not a snuggler but will lay by your chair and loves to be rubbed and petted. Mary Sunshine can be a little bit of a barker but mostly outside and we live on a green belt. She loves to lay right by the bed or by our feet when we are in a chair. She does like attention, is a good eater but would not suggest cafeteria feeding as I feel Mary Sunshine would overeat. Mary Sunshine does enjoy being outside and LOVES water.
Why is Being Rehomed?
Mary Sunshine is a stray dog who will not leave our house or yard. We have taken her in for food and water. We have had her for over a week, with signs on the car and our mail box, no response. I am 83 and mu husband is 86. We have two dogs now and we simply cannot take another dog on a permanent basis. She needs a home, not a shelter.
