Remy’s Current Home Environment

Currently we live in a 1 bedroom apartment. Remy was raised in the apartment life, we wanted a small dog so that we could have her in our smaller space. Little did we know she was a min pin and the amount of energy she contains in her little frame.

We have 1 other dog who is 30lbs and they have learned to get along for the most part. We got our second dog so Remy would have a play mate. She was not a fan of us bringing in another dog into her home and her territory, this is why we recommend that she be the only dog in her new home.

We have a dog park at our apartment that we take her to so she can run around, she loves going here to socialize with the other dogs. We take her for walks when the weather isn’t too hot. She is in a kennel 5-7 hours a day 3-4 days a week due to both of us working.

She does great in a kennel, we trained her when she was a few months old and she even sleeps in her kennel on her own. It is her safe place and we keep a blanket over the top to make it more comforting for her.

Remy’s Current Family:

It is currently just my wife and I with Remy and our other dog, Jax. We are expecting our first child in October. We are originally from Oregon and we moved down to Arizona 3 years ago to escape the dreary, rainy winters of Oregon.

Remy’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Remy loves toys especially squeaky toys! She can tear up a new toy within hours of getting it so we recommend sticking to rubber/durable toys. If it is a stuffed toy expect to have stuffing everywhere within minutes. She loves to chase balls and chew on bones, especially bully sticks (they stink but she loves them). She will do almost anything for a treat. She loves carrots and skinned apple pieces. She eats Canidae dog food bison flavor and she has eaten Canidae since she was a young puppy. She does not like any other flavor, we have tried salmon, duck and chicken and she only likes the bison flavor. We get ours from Pet Club. Remy loves to run, she is a very fast, athletic and agile dog. She loves to go on walks and sniff everything in sight. Her favorite thing to do is go swimming with you. She loves to jump to you from the ledge of a pool. She loves socializing with other dogs and playing with kids (we recommend 8+ years old). She also loves to just lay in the sun, it seems to be very relaxing to her. We usually give her a bath while one of us is showering, she loves the water but no the sound of the bathtub being filled up, I think it is too loud and scares her but the sound of the shower is just fine. She loves to be held and be bathed and after she runs around like crazy to dry off. Remy has also worn a harness since she was a few months old. She loves to have it on 24/7, she finds a sense of comfort in wearing it, I would not take it off unless it needs to be washed or she is getting a bath. She loves to be pet under her chin and to be picked up and talked to. She will curl up in your lap when you are sitting on the couch or relaxing somewhere.

Cute Remy Story:

Like I said before, Remy loves toys. One day we were on a walk and at the beginning of our walk she found a tennis ball and she carried it with her the whole entire way. We walked for about 30 minutes and she never once forgot about the ball, she would set it down every now and then when she would go potty and then pick it up as we continued walking. She brought it home and was so proud of herself. She has done this a couple of times. She is the cutest.

Why is Remy Being Rehomed?

We are looking to rehome little Remy because we have a baby on the way. We want to give our dogs 100% of our love and attention, especially a dog like Remy who is a little more high maintenance. We do not feel that we can give our her everything she needs to live a happy and fulfilling life which leads us to where we are now. This is the toughest decision we have had to make, she is our baby but we know in the end she will get all the love and attention that she needs.

Remy’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Remy’s new family needs to be animal lovers. We love her like she is a human and we want her to go to a family that treats her like family. We want her family to show her love, compassion and respect. We would love if her new family has a history of owning min pins since they are such a unique breed. We would recommend she go to a home with children ages 8+ since she can be rambunctious at times and she has never been around a baby before. We would love her to live in a spacious home with a large yard and possibly a pool that she can swim and play in. She loves to lay outside and just be in the sun.

Additional Comments:

This is the hardest thing that we have ever had to do, Remy is our baby. We would love to be able to send her gifts periodically and to get updated pictures of her enjoying her new family and home. I will gladly send more pics if needed, I have tons! Also, on a side note, Remy has eaten a few odds and ends in her day. When she was a puppy about 3 months old she ate my wife’s stretchy head band (similar to a pony tail holder but much larger) and passed it no problem. She has eaten socks as well and has always thrown them up (she has not done this in quite some time). She mostly ate foreign objects in her puppy months but she has an amazing digestive system and we have never had to do any surgeries, so if for some reason she eats something similar to a sock or head band, give it time because chances are she will pass it or throw it up.
