Calory’s Personality

She’s shy and nervous for a while, then she will come out of her shell slowly but surely. She likes to cuddle and she likes to eat! Needs a safe and enclosed type of place that’s just for her as do many cats but this one will find a place so it’s better to just have one ready for her (like under the bed or maybe under a staircase).

I think she would do best with one owner or a couple with no kids and plenty of patience and time to spend helping build her trust in them and making sure she feels safe. She is easily spooked and absolutely hates the sound of anything being sprayed near her. I think the previous owner used it as punishment. She has plenty of potential and she’s 100% innocent and she needs to be somewhere safe secure and permanent. Poor baby

She is on her way back here now, I’m going to slowly transition her back into the house with a huge crate and barriers, so she’s not being thrown into a stressful situation with the dog and the kitten being here roaming around.

I really feel terrible but I don’t know what else to do and I want her to have the best possible life. None of this is her fault, and I will never take her or any other animal to a shelter. Thank you for what you do, I hope it works!

Why is Calory Being Rehomed?

Our place isn’t for her. We tried for a year and she never warmed up to our very well behaved dog, so we thought we had a solution giving her to a friend who had a quieter house in the country with one of the two dogs she almost likes then said friend decided to let a family of 4 (with a 3 and a 5-year-old) move in and she hasn’t come out from under the bed since.

Not even to use the litter box and she never once had that problem here. I feel terrible, and she’s coming back here but now we have a kitten and I know it’s going to cause extreme stress for her and the other animals. And me! She deserves better. Someone who is patient and loving and looking for a loyal and pretty kitty companion would be perfect.

Thank you for your interest in this deserving Russian Blue mix Cat Adopted in Raleigh NC.
