Hi, My name is Scruffy!

Scruffy - papillon dog for adoption in hawaii

Are you looking for a tiny shadow in the shape of a butterfly? My name is Scruffy, and I am one of those little dogs that just loves to be with you. I am just a little guy – only 5 pounds soaking wet, but I have the heart and devotion of any dog 20 times my size.

I am a purebred Papillon, an exqisite little breed that was bred to be a lap dog and companion. I am really affectionate and sweet. I get along well with other dogs and cats – and with children old enough to treat dogs with love and respect.

My owner loves me to pieces, but is moving away from the islands, and cannot afford to take me with her. She is dearly hoping to find me a Hawaiian forever home where I will be cherished. I would be ideal as a companion for a retired or elderly couple or single dog lover. I would also be fine in a family with older kids, so long has the family has plenty of time to give me the love, attention, companionship and playtime I need and deserve.

I will be rehomed with all supplies and veterinary records. Please offer me a loving home today. I can’t wait to charm my way into your heart and home.

Personality

Scruffy is a very unique dog. He is very attached and loves to follow me everywhere (like into the bathroom and when i take the trash out). He gets along well with people, other animals, and rarely barks. I often walk him without a leash because he listens well and doesn’t charge at other animals. He basically walks himself. He loves playing fetch, attention, and being taken on long walks. Although he is very clingy, Scruffy does not like to be fondled too excessively, especially on his back or lower body. But tiny head, chest, and behind the ear scratches are his favorite.

Food and Diet

Scruffy is currently on Other

My dog eats Earthborn Holistic small breed dog food. I usually give him a small amount to eat in the morning and then a bigger portion around dinnertime (6ish pm). He loves table food but should only be given some in small doses because too much causes his stomach to be upset and gives him diarrhea. Also the pieces given to him shouldn’t be large because he will try to swallow it whole.

Reason For Rehoming

I am looking for another permanent home for my dog because I am moving to another state and cannot afford to bring him with me.
