Druid’s Personality

Druid is the sweetest dog, he aims to please. He is a little scared around other dogs that are leashed, but does good with new folks and new dogs once they are unleashed. He loves to jump up gently and put his paws on your chest so that you can give him a good head scratch or kiss. He enjoys playing with other dogs and also likes being chased by our 5 year old. He thinks he is a tiny puppy still and will try to curl up on places that he doesn’t really fit in. He enjoys being outside but does bark a bit if left out for more than 10 minutes, be mindful of this if you have neighbors. He enjoys searching for prey, he’s caught a squirrel and two voles in our backyard and will proudly play with his ‘friends’. He loves snuggling with you in the bed and is a great alarm clock because he is food motivated.

Druid’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Druid LOVES meal time more than anything. He will dance and prance for his food. He enjoys getting treats for behaving well and he loves any toy you’ll give him. If it squeaks or bounces he’s all over it. He really loves to be walked, we just don’t exercise him enough to get him tired.

Cute Druid Story:

We purchased a small round bed for our 16 year old chihuahua and the other day I found Druid curled up as tightly as possible so that he could fit on the small bed without touching the ground. Eventually he gave up and left his butt on the bed and the rest of his body hanging off and snored cozily for an hour or so.

Why is Druid Being Rehomed?

We have two young children who demand more of our time and I (Jaki) am having mental health issues that are preventing me from being able to spend more time with Druid and giving him the attention and exercise that he deserves. Due to me (Jaki) being laid off of work my husband is needing to spend more time working and he is also unable to spend enough time with Druid.

Druid’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Druid needs a family with another younger dog or younger adult who can spend a lot of time with him. A home where he can run around and chase, be ok digging, and just having a good time. He needs someone who can take him for good long walks and maybe to some stores or be able to take him to places to eat outside. He loves people and he’s such a pleaser, but he does have a desire to hunt which is why he needs to be distracted with walks or playing.

I’d love to get updates on how Druid is doing but only if the family he moves into would like to share, if they don’t I won’t be upset.
