Weighing in at 65 pounds, he’s got the look of a majestic wild wolf, but the heart of a goofy teenager who just wants to play tug-of-war and be your loyal best friend.
Lakota has been professionally trained and knows his commands like a champ. He’s e-collar trained, crate trained, house trained, AND uses a Halo GPS fence.
This boy’s resume is stacked. Sit? Stay? Heel? Place? Whistle recall? Done. He’s basically a furry little soldier. But like any working breed combo, he thrives in a structured environment with a confident leader.
Lakota’s loyalty runs deep. He’s incredibly protective of his family and has a strong personality that isn’t for the faint of heart (or first-time dog parents).
But once he’s properly introduced, he’ll welcome you with tail wags and a happy heart. He just needs to know you’re on the guest list.
He’s done well with other dogs and had a blast during his three-month board-and-train with a pro K9 trainer.
He doesn’t need a ton of exercise, but he does need clear rules, consistency, and someone who understands how to guide a big-hearted protector like him.
Favorite things? Tug of war, fetch, being chased around the yard, and dry kibble (nothing fancy for this guy!).
Not so favorite? Chaos. While he does okay with kids (his current home has little ones), a calm, adult-only home or one with older teens would be best.
Lakota comes fully loaded with his own stylish crate, food container, bowls, toys, grooming gear, e-collar, and his Halo collar system.
His current family loves him deeply, but due to health issues and big life changes, they know he needs a home where he can continue to thrive. One with structure, space, and a strong, loving leader.
If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a loyal companion who’s smart, affectionate, and a little bit heroic—Lakota might just be your soulmate on four paws.

Protective and loving. He requires a strong pack leader that will lead him not a first time pet owner. When he is in protective mode he does not disengage easily. The e-collar is the gentle reminder that he can disengage.
Lakota’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
Tug of war, fetch and loves being chased. He eats dry dog food.
Why is Lakota Being Rehomed?
Owner time and health. Also, due to his protective nature he does make people uneasy. With the right experienced owner he will follow the pack leader. He is the communicator of the pack and does his job well! He has never harmed a stranger but they will know that he is present and paying attention.
Lakota’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
A home that is calm and loving. A home with structure and space. A home with young kids is not recommended. We have young kids and he does well but when the activity goes up so does his. He loves to play but can come across as to overbearing
Lakota is 1 year old and has had professional training by a K9 trainer. Perfect dog for a fenced in yard or a big farm but he also used a halo invisible fence system in our yard, he does sleep and stay inside majority of time with us. He is a sweet boy but a protector and let me say it, he is trained and knows commands.
He is trained with a E-Collar device and he uses a Halo security fence system in our yard.
He needs a loving, ‘Alpha personality…’ owner whether male or female.
He loves to play tug of war and needs room to play. He loves kids and it’s in his nature to protect his family. Lakota has been around other dogs and did well when he was boarded and trained by his professional trainer for 3 months.
He’s fully crate trained and house trained. Please Reach out for any questions! The only reason we are rehoming is due to big changes in our lives right now and schedules.
