The Whippet rescues list we have created below offers an alternative avenue for individuals seeking to adopt Whippets that are in need of a new home. These rescues typically provide a network of foster homes and rehabilitation services for Whippets that have been abandoned, surrendered, or saved from unfavorable conditions.

Whippet Rescues in the US

• Whippet Rescue and Placement (WRAP): WRAP is a 501(c)(3) charity devoted exclusively to the rescue of pure-bred Whippets in the United States. They offer services including pickup from owners or animal welfare facilities, assessment of the Whippet’s suitability as a pet, providing health care and training as needed, and placement in qualified homes.They operate with volunteers across the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii, ensuring there are very few Whippets in rescue and usually a waiting list for adoptable dogs. Whippet Rescues in Canada

• National Whippet Club of Canada (NWCC) Rescue Program: The NWCC has organized a comprehensive Whippet Rescue program with representatives across Canada, dedicated to assisting abandoned, abused, neglected, or lost Whippets. They also help owners who can no longer keep their Whippets due to various reasons.All Whippets entering their rescue program are fostered and assessed by experienced member volunteers of the NWCC. While they receive many inquiries to adopt from NWCC Rescue, they do not often have dogs available.
