Just 3 years old and weighing 70 lbs, Chewie is a lovely German Shepherd Collie Mix Dog that has been neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, crate trained, housebroken, leash-trained, and obedience-trained. Chewie is good with small children, older children, other dogs, dog-friendly cats, and people he has yet to meet. He is an absolutely amazing dog looking for an absolutely amazing family to cherish him and keep him safe, happy and healthy for the rest of his life.
Chewie’s owners are very sad to have to rehome their precious dog. His owner’s fiance is having severe allergic reactions to pets, making rehoming Chewie a “must-do”. They are dearly hoping to find a wonderful new home for Chewie with owners who will cherish and keep him safe, happy, and healthy.
He truly is the kind of dog that will steal your heart within moments of meeting him. He would fit well into any family, so long as they have a large, securely fenced yard and lots of time to spend with him. Chewie thrives on human companionship and loves to play. He was a rescue and he had stitches around his groin that never really healed. We took him in and got him antibiotics several times but it never fully went away. We stopped treating it and it doesn’t get bad, so it’s not an issue. We stopped taking care of it around a year ago, but keep and eye on it and it looks good.

Chewie’s Personality
He’s very loving and compassionate. He loves to play at all times of the day, but he likes to snuggle up and lay on top of you too. He’s great with other dogs, and like I said, we had a cat and he never killed him. Chewie was just very curious about him. He’s obedient and knows the basic tricks. He also rarely barks, and if he does, it’s not constant. However he likes to whine constantly when he’s excited or anxious. For example, getting to the dog park, or at the vet.
Why is Chewie Being Rehomed?
We’ve found an adopter for our cat but can’t seem to find a home for our dog. My fiancé has had worsening allergies to animals to the point where she passes out from sneezing too frequently.
