Autumn’s Personality
Active energetic dog. ~26kg 5y. Loves to run and loves to chase balls. Loves kids. Loves people. Has never made strange with anyone. Good in the house, loves to sleep on the couch. Cuddly. Needs more time than we can devote to her. Free to a good home.
No medical issues. Calm after a good walk or run. Great hiking in the woods though she has her own mind and loves squirrels and her recall is not great. Generally good about cats but gets excited and boisterous when they run or play.
Cooperative with handling. Good about baths. Barks a bit but not excessively if she is kept active.
Prefers to live in a single dog household. Fine with other dogs on walks or at the park or if she can do her own thing, but may be possessive about her owners attentions when she spends extended time with another dog (has nipped and created a small puncture on another dogs’ ear because the dog was getting attention from us though this was years ago). Never aggressive at all towards people, just to other dogs. There is no issue with us taking away her toys or her food. She is very easy going.
Autumn’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
Balls, any ball, anywhere anytime. Ball obsessed. Chases them, carries them proudly and… if you have another ball… she will quite possibly bring it back and trade. Sometimes you do the fetching though.
Running, jumping, playing, very active. Independent. If there’s a squirrel… her recall is not great off leash though she will always come back to you… eventually.
Cuddly. Thinks she’s a lap dog.
Sleeping on the couch is also a favourite activity.
Loves food. Needs her food measured out.
Cute Autumn Story:
She is so good with kids. She has been dressed up, paraded around, sat and read to, put in blanket forts. She truly is happy to be someone’s ‘best friend’.
She loves to run at the dog park, she looks beautiful running through the trees. She loves to bound through the snow. If there are puddles, expect her to get into them, we give her lots of baths when we get home. She’s great in the tub and gets right in because she knows she gets peanut butter smeared on the rim to lick. She loves the massage and the bubbles and is so cute when she comes out of the tub.
Why is Autumn Being Rehomed?
She needs someone with an active lifestyle to spend time with her and keep her active. She is not great with our senior cats (they do NOT want to play with her and she wants to chase them). She isn’t getting enough attention or activity with us. We got her from a rescue when it was evacuated during early covid and she was larger and more active than we were prepared for honestly though we have tried to make the best of it.
Autumn’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Dog lovers, people who want to walk/run and play with her every day. She needs to be the ‘only dog’ as we have seen in past she can react with jealousy when other dogs are given attention by her people. She wants all the love to herself. She did nip a dog once.
We hope to hear that things are going well. This is not an easy decision. We do like her a lot and she has been so good with our child however we just aren’t spending enough time with her and she is not good with our two older cats.
