Pedro is in great health, aside from some age-related issues with his eyes. He is very young at heart, and loves to play with his toys just like a puppy. Pedro’s owners are sad to hace to part with him, but health issues have made moving a must-do, and their new home will not allow pets. They are dearly hoping to find Pedro an amazing home where he will be cherished and kept safe, happy and healthy for the rest of his life.

Eyes need wiping frequently as they run.
No problems with ears are common in these dogs.
He has minor cataracts but still sees okay. No indication of blindness.

He has also eaten other brands but we have always maintained a high quality protein mix.
Wet food mixed with the dry. (Pedigree and Cesars brands)
He gets a 1/4 cup of dry with approximately 100 gms (size of Cesar package) of wet in the morning and only the wet portion at supper time.
We also give him a half of a “Jerky Treat” each time he comes back in after doing his pee or poo.

Pedro’s Personality
He is very friendly to everyone whether familiar or strangers. When first meeting a stranger he sometimes barks a little until they greet and pat him. He never shows aggression. He does like to bark at large dogs when he is out on a leash.
He likes to chew on dog toys and play fetch/keep away with them. He has never chewed shoes, toys, or anything that was not given to him for that purpose. He will ignore the grandkid’s toys on the floor and only go after his own.
He is not super energetic. He likes to snuggle on the couch or in his bed. He sleeps on the foot of our bed.
He is a friendly, well-behaved dog, who would fit in with most households. He is older but still has a very puppy-like demeanor and loves people. He is not demanding and is quite happy all the time. He would fit well with almost any home. He is currently living with seniors and would be a good dog for companionship for seniors as he does not need a lot of exercises.
Why is Pedro Being Rehomed?
We live in a rental unit that’s being sold and we have to move soon. The new place we are moving to does not allow pets.
Pedro has been a good dog and member of our family since he was born. Unfortunately, due to health concerns, we are at a stage in our lives where we no longer can properly look after him and feel he would be better off in a more stable home.
Pedro lives in Calgary, Alberta, close to the following towns and cities in southern Alberta.
