Gepeto is a stunning 5 year old male cat looking for a loving new home anywhere within a reasonable distance of Calgary. This 15 pound bundle of purrs is about the friendliest and most laid back cat you will meet. Gepetto will fit in well into any home, whether a busy family with other pets and children, or a retired couple looking for a gregarious cat to give them love, joy, laughter and companionship. He has proven his resilience during a road trip across Canada – his humans were so proud of how he fared, showing no anxiety despite the many new environments.
Gepetto’s owners are very sad to have to rehome their cherished cat. After moving to Calgary from Ontario, they discovered that it was very difficult to find a place to live where pets are allowed. They have had to lease a house with a strict no-pets policy. They are dearly hoping to find a new home for Gepetto where he will be cherished and kept safe, happy, and healthy for the rest of his life.

We typically have him on Iams or other PC brand food products. We don’t have a feeding schedule. We fill his bowl and allow him to self-regulate. Freshwater every day otherwise he won’t show interest in drinking. He loves treats and some wet food.

Gepetto’s Personality
Gepetto is what we refer to as a “floppy noodle”. He loves to roll over on you or in your lap for attention and snuggles.
He is charming, laid back, and loves to flop on his back for belly rubs and scratches. He loves his humans. He will follow you around for attention and will often be nearby. He loves to sit by windows or be perched on a cat tree.
He’s awesome with kids!! He almost never bites or scratches unless he is provoked and it takes a lot to provoke him. He’s honestly the most chill and laid-back cat I’ve ever had and is super affectionate with new people he meets. At first, he may act surprised, but let him have a sniff and he will immediately be your friend. He loves to squeeze into small boxes, chase feathers, string, and other dangly toys, and absolutely loves catnip.
He’s a talker too. He will meow for attention and chirp back at you. He responds to the command ‘No’ or ‘Off’. He might give you a chirp but he will respond/listen.
He enjoys long naps, and isn’t easily spooked or rattled. He’s pretty carefree and appreciates being fed a few times a day, fresh water and a clean litter box.
He’s an impeccable mouser too. He caught a mouse in our home after hunting it down for a few days until he was successful. So anyone with mouse issues, he’s your guy! He’s pretty strong and resilient for such a soft personality. He can be brave, courageous and daring. He loves to get up to those high places and see everything going on. Most of all though, he loves being with you.
He also seems to integrate well with new cats and dogs. He doesn’t seem to care for them as much as his human companions but he learns quickly to play nice, keep a distance if necessary, and mind his own business. We had to live with relatives for a few weeks with 4 cats and a dog… after a few days he was roaming around with them all just fine.
Why is Gepetto Being Rehomed?
We recently moved to Calgary from Ontario. We were never intending on giving up Gepetto. We don’t like this decision at all. However, upon arrival we realized the rental market was very volatile and could not find any pet friendly options. We have leased a home and sadly the owner is severely allergic to cats and has a no cat policy. It was either sign the lease or not have a home for our family. Under the current circumstances we signed the lease and now doing what we can to find Gepetto a loving home he can thrive in.
We have not had the chance to have Gepetto vet checked or immunized. He has been exceptionally healthy since we’ve had him with no health concerns. I’ve wanted to bring him in but have not been able to given personal circumstances.
