Hamilton’s Personality

He runs toward people rather than away from them, he reaches for me to pick him up, He’s patient (let’s me brush him and trim his hair), He is easily amused and loves his toys/scratch posts, he curls up with me to watch TV, it feels like he listens (it was just us two his first couple of years, so I talked to him a lot. I think he now expects me to address him anytime I’m about to leave)

Hamilton’s Current Home Environment

It’s me, my husband, and our German short-haired pointer. We currently live in an apartment, but are moving to a house soon. This is one of the reasons I’m re-homing Hammy. My husband is severely allergic to Hamilton. We’ve been married 3.5 years and have tried everything. Currently Hammy has his own room with lots of toys and windows, but I feel that I am no longer providing the home he needs – Hammy deserves the best. I also travel extensively for work, which means less and less human contact for Hammy.

Hamilton’s Current Family:

It’s me, my husband, Hammy, and our dog. I travel a lot for work and my husband is a busy solo practitioner. We love live music, traveling, and being active.

Hamilton’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Hammy loves scratch posts. His favorite toy is the Bergan turbo scratcher. He loves to look out the window and make noises at birds.

Cute Hamilton Story:

Like I said, Hammy really loves people. Whenever he comes with me to my mom’s house, he’ll get up on the dryer and kiss us goodbye as we head out the back door.

Why is Hamilton Being Rehomed?

My husband’s severe allergies. We’ve tried everything and he still can’t be around Hammy without it affecting his breathing. Also, my extensive work travel. I really want Hammy to be in a home where he’s free to roam and has people to love on.

Hamilton’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

I want him to go to a person or family who will continue to let him be an inside cat. I want them to be able to spend time with Hammy and enjoy having a sweet cat in their lap. Also, I will not allow him to go to a home where they intend to declaw him. I am vehemently against declawing cats. He does perfectly fine with scratch posts.

Additional Comments:

I think it would be too hard to stay in touch. I love Hammy so, so much and this decision has come after many, many tears. Hammy is seriously the best.
