One of “Nature’s Designer Dogs”, Tucker is a handsome Black colored Golden Retriever Boxer Bulldog mix dog for adoption in Calgary Alberta. This sweet boy weighs 80 pounds.

He is fixed, up to date on shots, house broken and micro-chipped. Tucker is good with respectful children and most other dogs. He is a fabulous, sensitive companion with so much love to offer his people.

Tucker is being rehomed by his family, who recently welcomed a baby into the home. As the baby is becoming a toddler and more mobile, Tucker has shown some anxiety in the form of growling.

As much as his owners love him, they feel it is best to find him a home where there are no small children.  A home where he gets treats, walks, lots of play time, snuggles and unconditional love.

Tucker is hoping to find a home where he can be with his best friend, Frankie – a female Cane Corso mix . They are looking for an extra-loving new home where they will be cherished and kept safe, happy and healthy. The owners would love to keep in touch with the new family, but only if that is something they are comfortable with.

All About Tucker The Boxer Mix

Tucker’s Personality

Tucker is a very loving sensitive dog. He can be very stubborn when he wants to be. He loves to lick you over and over to make sure there is no salt left on your skin. He has a very funny personality – and loves to tell you when he thinks it’s time for you to give him a treat. He is very intelligent, and can do many tricks (when he is in the mood for it hahaha). He loves to snuggle in bed, and often likes to sleep between my husband and I all night.

His endless kisses, his awesome snuggles, turbo mode (zoomies), when he chases his tale (just have to say “Get your tail”, and he spins in circles chomping at his tail trying to catch it), how much he LOVES the snow as well as swimming.

He sometimes doesn’t get along with other dogs (dogs not in his pack). He is very sensitive to anger or yelling, and will get very nervous (not aggressive) and will shake and hunker down very timid.

Tucker’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Tucker loves going on walks, he loves all balls no matter the size, loves treats (Milk Bones, and healthy treats like apples, carrots, and veggie scraps). He can swim for HOURS if you let him… and if walking off leash and he smells water, he will surely run to jump in! He is a big water dog and is happiest when fetching sticks in the water.

Why is Tucker Being Rehomed?

Tucker isn’t a fan of our new baby. He hasn’t bit our baby but has shown aggression toward our Baby by growling once in a while when he isn’t in the mood for the baby to be around him. It is very important that we keep our two dogs together as they are best buds and need companionship.

Tucker’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

We would like them to be as loving to our dogs as we were before our baby came. They were our world before our little man came into it. They are very affectionate dogs and I believe they would need that in a new home. A home where they get treats, walks, lots of play time, snuggles, etc. We did spoil them with allowing them on our bed at night, but that was our zen with them – our safe and happy place. It is also important for the new owners to continue to utilize our (paid) trainer to maintain consistency and help them acclimate to their new pack.

Additional Comments:

We have paid for a Dog trainer for the lifetime of our dogs and it transfers to the new owners with no charge. We would want the new owners to utilize our trainer for the dogs to maintain consistency and help with any behavioural issues that may arise.
