We are asked to
rehome Schnoodles fairly often. Fill out our online waiting list form to be placed on our Schnoodle adoption waiting list. When a dog or puppy comes available, we will send you the dog’s adoption profile by email, giving you advance opportunity to offer a Schnoodle a home (before we begin to advertise).

Smokey is a very handsome, healthy 3 year old Schnoodle for adoption near Sacramento CA in Carmichael. Schnoodles are a mix of Miniature Schnauzer and Miniature Poodle. He has a fluffy salt and pepper coat and big brown eyes. Smokey is a small dog weighing just 15 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on shots and house broken.
Smokey has a very loving, affectionate and playful personality – most of the time. He would be the perfect dog were it not for his occasional tendency to be aggressive in guarding his toys and chewies. His owners are a family of three who were given Smokey by their neighbors when they moved away.
Smokey’s owners love him a lot, but fear that his resource guarding behavior will pose future problems when their new grandchild arrives in the next few months.
Smokey has spent time with a pet sitter in another home, and had no issues whatsoever. He is very good with his groomer, as well. It seems that the aggression happens only in his owners home, where he seems to believe that he is top dog. The behavior is only evident when it comes to items on the floor. (where he leaves his toys and chews). He is not food-aggressive.
Smokey needs a special home with just one dog lover who understands him and who can confidently ensure that he knows he is not in charge. He will need some behavior modification to curb this toy-guarding. A quiet home with a very strong routine will be ideal.
Because of this behavior issue, he is not a good choice for homes with other dogs, cats or children. He needs a home where he can be the only pet with just one owner who can spend lots of time with him.
Smokey is not the dog for everyone, but in the right situation, he will provide his owner with immeasurable love, laughter and companionship. Please offer this cute Schnoodle the loving home he needs and deserves today.

Why is Smokey Being Rehomed?
There are currently 3 of us and two dogs. Smokey and a smaller dog. (Smokey does not get along with the other dog.) We also have a grandchild coming in March.
